The pledge

We’re all entitled to dignity.

Each member of the human family has equal rights and deserves justice. Lasting peace for friends, loved ones, nations and the world can only be achieved through social and legal equality.

I pledge to respect the dignity and worth of each member of the global human family.

The philosophy

Social justice considers disagreements to be different than discrimination. It fights discrimination, which comes in many disguises, even as it encourages polite disagreement.

It’s okay to oppose lifestyles, religions or philosophies, but we rise above our differences when we fight for other people’s right to be who they are even if we disagree with their choices or traits.

Social justice doesn’t see racism, sexism or any other “ism” as a separate human fight. At its core, discrimination is hate for one group of people based on something they don’t control.

Social justice is the underlying theme of all civil rights movements. It’s the key to world peace.
